This is interesting (and disturbing). Can you comment on progesterone for women who have gone through menopause?

I do have the feeling that a sudden weight gain to a new plateau (with no other health issues) has something to do with a hormonal imbalance...

Excellent question! Yes, I still recommend progesterone for women in menopause for this reason. I would more recommend drop dosing with a herbal tincture - example 2 drops morning and 2 drops evening. Many of us ladies who have challenging peri menopause with hot flushes, painful/heavy periods, weight fluctuations are in the estrogen dominance. Liver support with herbs like rosemary and globe artichoke help here too. But remember, Progesterone is the youth hormone. It is excellent to help recycle estrogen in the liver. Without adequate progesterone, we don't recycle the estrogen properly and issues ensue.

Another thing to consider with the weight gain is the reduction in the effectiveness of the mitochondria. I'm currently looking into a (new to me) product with a great herbal combination. I'll try it out and if I find it effective, I'll be posting about it for sure. I'm at the end of perimenopause and while it has been relatively easy for me, I've noticed my energy levels are not quite the same. And a tiny bit of weight has found me! I'll get back to you with this one

Thanks for this reply. To clarify, what about after menopause? I’m 64.

The same applies after menopause. If it was me, I'd still drop dose the wild yam tincture or apply the cream. In clinic, I found the herbal tinctures to be more effective than the cream for most people.

Please look into a Clinoptilolite clay called Toxaprevent (red box). It acts slightly differently from zeolites, even though it is a class of zeolite clay. Toxaprevent has come up with a patented process to purify the clay so it's pure clinoptilolite. It only ever travels through the digestive tract but it acts like a very strong magnet for toxic chemicals like PFAS, organophosphates, xenoestrogens, microplastics, graphene, toxic heavy metals (but does NOT affect magnesium, copper, zinc etc), POPs (persistent organic pollutants) and more. The recommended dosage is 2 capsules 3 times a day but depending on how toxic you are, it can be far too much initially.

If this is something you wish to try, start with one capsule morning and one in the evening. And remember to drink at least 250ml water with the capsule plus extra during the day. The more clear liquid you can drink (vodka and gin not included), the better the magnetizing effects. If you can tolerate that without many detox symptoms, you can start to up the dose
